Music's Impact

One of my favorite hobbies is music and I spend many hours a day listening to my favorite artists, whether it is while doing homework or riding on the bus. My playlist just gets larger and larger every year, and it never gets old. It's funny how spirited people will get about their favorite music, especially when others don't see the same way as you. I lost count of how many times my friends have been in an argument over the world's "best" song or band. I laugh at these times afterwards because it is all opinion and it shouldn't be a topic to fight over. Obviously music is important in many people's lives. For instance, it has been used in ceremonies for thousands of years to represent sorrow and happiness. Although, now there is a much larger variety to listen to and causes opinion to be more segregated. I guess that is why there is so much debate among modern music. Look no further for the impact of music in society than The Beatles. We have all seen the video of The Beatles coming to America. No one else on Earth could have had that type of an introduction. The Beatles created a new type of sound and become superstars. Sports athletes might be popular but not this popular. Musicians are coming up with new and creative sounds every day. The good songs are known by nearly everyone around the world in a day. The evolution of music has been amazing. Music began as a religious expression tool and now it is in almost everything known to man. Think about it. You can go to the mall and you will hear music, and even movies had music without any speaking in it. I know someone that likes every genre of music out there, and it's interesting to meet people and learn what genre they like. Through meeting people, I have learned about new artists and songs that have become regularly played on my ipod. I personally can't wait to see where music goes in the future. I am always anxiously waiting when my favorite artists will come out with a new album. What will the next new genre of music be? Only time will tell.
